Ayushman Card, also known as Ayushman Bharat Card. It was launched in 2018. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) under the Ayushman Card. This is a scheme for the people to get free medical treatment in government and some private hospitals. Already fifty crores of Indians hold Ayushman Cards and use them for free-of-cost treatment. It is an insurance-based healthcare scheme which provides cashless access to healthcare services up to Rs 5 lakh per family in a year by the government.   • Cashless Treatment: One who has an Ayushman Card is eligible for cashless treatment at any government-specified hospital across India. You are not required to submit any payment to the hospital.   • They have a Kisan card with a credit limit of Rs 50,000.

How To Register For an Ayushman Card?

To apply for an Ayushman card or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, you need to follow these steps.

  • Visit the official website of  Ayushman Bharat PMJAY (https://pmjay.gov.in/).
  • Verify whether you are eligible for the scheme or not.
  • Find the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) at your pincode.
  • Now, visit the Common Service Center with all the required documents(check below).
  • Provide your details like name, address, family details(as per SECC database) and other details asked by your CSC operator.
  • The CSC operator will verify your details and submit your application.
  • After successful registration, you will receive the Ayushman Bharat Cases with a unique identification number which is called the UHID number.
  • Now you can use this card for your free treatment at a government-specified hospital or clinic.

Required Documents For Ayushman Card

The following document is required at the time of registration of the Ayushman Bharat Card or Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana card. Collect the following document and visit the office-

  • Aadhar Card: As we know, the Aadhar card is the primary identification document for every Indian. It is required to link your Aadhaar card with the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY System.
  • Ration Card: It is required to verify your residence and family details. All the listed members in the ration card will get the benefits from the Ayushman card.
  • Other Card: If you don’t have a ration card, then collect a voter ID card.
  • Passport-size Photograph: Passport-size photograph of yours and your family member is required at the time of registration.
  • Income Certificate: It requires an income certificate to determine your eligibility based on socio-economic criteria.
  • Caste Certificate: As said, all ST and SC people are eligible for Ayushman cards. Hence, you need to submit your caste certificate at the time of registration.

  • Visit the official website of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY (https://pmjay.gov.in/).
  • Click on the Download E-Card section. It is available on the homepage or under the “Beneficiary Corner” section.
  • Enter your Aadhar Number, Mobile Number or other required details.
  • For authentication, enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
