The final match of TATA IPL 2023 was played on 29 May 2023 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT), in which Chennai Super Kings won the championship for the fifth time and won the most Indian Premier League (IPL) titles. IPL Winners List from 2008 to 2023:-

IPL 2023- Chennai Super Kings : Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2023 final in a rain-affected match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Chasing a mammoth target of 215 runs against GT, CSK made a successful run chase with four runs on the board in the first over and just three balls after the match was stopped due to rain.

IPL 2022 Winner: Gujarat Titans: The final match of Tata IPL 2022 was played between Gujarat Titans (GT) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans won the final match of IPL 2022 by 7 wickets. Jos Buttler was the highest run-scorer in Tata IPL 2022. He scored 863 runs in 17 matches, which included 4 hundreds and 4 half-centuries. Jos Buttler has also won the Most Valuable Play award this season.



IPL Winner 2021: Chennai Super Kings: In the final match of IPL-2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the title for the fourth time by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai scored 192 runs losing 3 wickets. The most important contribution in this was made by Faf du Plessis by playing an inning of 86 runs, while Moeen Ali scored an unbeaten 37 runs. In reply, despite a great start, KKR could not go beyond 165/9. Shardul Thakur took maximum 3 wickets for Chennai.

IPL Winner 2020: Mumbai Indians : This time it was the second consecutive and fifth time in total when Mumbai Indians won the IPL title. The final match was played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals . MI won this match by 5 wickets. MI also won this year’s Paytm FairPlay Award.

IPL Winner 2019: Mumbai Indians: The final of IPL 2019 once again saw a clash of titans. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings met again in the final. The final went down to the last ball, after which it went into a Super Over where Shardul Thakur failed to counter Malinga’s off-cutter. Thus, Mumbai Indians became champions for a record 4th time. With this, Mumbai Indians became the most successful team in IPL history.

IPL Winner 2018: Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings became the second team to win more than two IPL trophies. Experienced Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson were the batting backbone of this team. Like always, Dhoni played the role of the best finisher this time too. CSK’s bowlers were lucky to get inputs from captain MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo, who led the bowling attack for CSK.

IPL Winner 2017: Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians became the first team in IPL history to win the title twice. He got his first win in 2013 and second in 2015. Mumbai Indians’ margin of victory against Rising Pune Supergiants in the final was just one run. Rohit Sharma showed exceptional performance as the captain of Mumbai Indians.

IPL Winner 2016: Sunrisers Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad team was successful in winning the final against Royal Challengers Bangalore by just 8 runs. David Warner, as captain, led the team to victory in the season. However, the Virat Kohli – AB de Villiers partnership played an important role in RCB matches throughout the season. Virat scored 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries in 16 innings! That means there should be no doubt that the Orange Cap would have been the winner of the season.

IPL Winner 2015: Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians became the third team after CSK and KKR to win the title more than once this season. Again, Mumbai Indians’ better balance helped them win the trophy. Simmons, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard lead the batting unit. Lasith Malinga led the bowling. Lasith Malinga took 24 wickets in the tournament, but did not receive the Purple Cap. Dwayne Bravo took two additional wickets from him.

IPL Winner 2014: Kolkata Knight Riders: Kolkata Knight Riders became the second team to win the IPL trophy more than once. If Manvinder Bisla was the hero in the final of the 2012 edition, this time the hero was Manish Pandey, who played a key role in helping KKR chase down the mammoth score of 199. Pandey played a brilliant inning of 94 runs in 50 balls. KKR’s Robin Uthappa won the Orange Cap for scoring 660 runs in 16 innings in the season.

IPL Winner 2013: Mumbai Indians: Hitman, Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians to their first win in IPL. MI did this by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final of the 2013 IPL. Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga and Mitchell Johnson were constant parts of the team’s playing eleven.




IPL Winner 2012: Kolkata Knight Riders: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated last year’s champions Chennai Super Kings in the final. KKR batsman did the challenging task of chasing 190 runs in the final, in which Bisla played a key role with a brilliant inning of 89 runs in 48 balls. Suresh Raina’s 73 runs in 38 balls failed to keep KKR away from victory.

IPL Winner 2011: Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings became the first IPL team in history to win back to back finals. Last year’s champions were successful in defending their title from RCB. CSK’s batting unit was led by Michael Hussey, popularly known as Mr. Cricket, who played many important innings throughout the tournament. Hussey and Murali Vijay’s 159-run opening partnership against Royal Challengers Bangalore was most useful in CSK’s title defence.

IPL Winner 2010: Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni finally won the IPL trophy after missing his chances in the inaugural season. With stellar players like Suresh Raina, Matthew Hayden, Albie Morkel, Muralitharan and Dhoni, the team was a strong contender for the title right from the start of the tournament. Suresh Raina was brilliant with the bat throughout the tournament and was the backbone of the team’s batting. IPL Winner 2009: Deccan Chargers: Deccan Chargers under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist won the second edition of the Indian Premier League. There were some great hitters in the team – Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, young Rohit Sharma. Pragyan Ojha played a very important role in the team’s victory by taking 18 wickets with his left arm spin bowling in the tournament. Adam Gilchrist scored a total of 495 runs in 16 matches and finished second in the list of highest run-scorers in the season after Matthew Hayden.

IPL Winners 2008: Rajasthan Royals: Rajasthan Royals, led by Shane Warne, won the first edition of the Indian Premier League. A well-balanced team with experienced batsmen like Shane Watson and Graeme Smith, explosive batsmen like Yusuf Pathan in the middle order and edge-rushing bowlers like Sohail Tanvir were the backbone of Rajasthan Royals in the first edition. However in the final against Chennai Super Kings, Yusuf Pathan made important contributions with both bowling and batting.
