India’s first government-owned OTT(Over-The-Top) platform, Cspace, was launched today, on 07 March 2024. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched it. The aim is to provide a curated content at just Rs 75 or much less. It is based on pay-per-view to view the films, shorts, films or other content. CSpace will be managed under the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC). CSpace will be featured with award-winning films, short films, documentation and other content which is not highly popular but worth watching. It is a special OTT place for the great artistic and cultural merit people.

Shaji N Karun, film director and chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) stated that “CSpace is a platform to respond to the numerous obstacles and widening challenges within the OTT industry about the distribution and choice of content.”

CSpace Vision:

The aim behind launching the CSpace is to promote Indian culture, heritage and value through the digital medium. It is a platform to offer a space whose content shows the richness of history, art, literature and tradition. It will not contain any false and overrated films or any content. They will feature special films or content in it. CSpace aims to provide valuable information, documentation, educational content or films to the audience. Moreover, CSpace is more trustworthy because it is transparent at every step from overall earnings to revenue sharing. It is all visible.

A curated panel of 60 experts including eminent cultural personalities from the state, such as Benyamin, OV Usha, and Santhosh Sivan from the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) will handle the content submitted on the platform. There will be a panel of three members, who will check each piece of content and will decide to submit it on the special CSpace OTT. The curator panel has already picked the 42 content for the first phase. These 42 contents contain 35 featured films, 6 documentaries and 1 short film. These are the special films which have won national awards or screened at major film festivals etc.

From today, CSpace will be available for Public streaming. It is available on both Android and iOS. You can download it and watch the content for 75 Rs or less.

CSpace Fee Criteria:

As said, CSpace is designed on a Pay-per-View model. Users have to pay 75 Rs to watch a fill or less for a short fill. You do not need to buy it’s subscription like Netflix, Prime, etc. You can pay for the film whenever you want to watch it. Moreover, half of the amount paid by the audience will go to the creator only. There is full transparency on the CSpace OTT platform. CSpace contains content related to Kerala culture and arts.
