The Telangana Lok Sabha Election 2024 is scheduled to be held in a single phase on May 13, 2024. The Election Commission of India announced this date, with the results set to be declared on June 4, 2024. In the previous 2019 elections, all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana went to polls on April 11.

This electoral event holds significant importance as it follows closely on the heels of the assembly polls held in December 2023, where the K Chandrashekar Rao-led BRS faced a setback, losing the state to Congress. Since the formation of Telangana in 2013, the BRS, formerly known as TRS, had been the dominant political force in the state.
In the last general election, Telangana witnessed a closely contested battle, with the BRS securing 9 out of the 17 seats with a vote share of 35%. The BJP won 4 seats with a vote share of 10.4%, while the Congress, now the ruling party in the state, clinched 3 seats.
The state comprises 17 constituencies, including Adilabad, Peddapalle, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Zahirabad, Medak, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Chevella, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Bhongir, Warangal, Mahabubabad, and Khammam. Five of these constituencies are reserved for Scheduled Casts/Scheduled Tribes.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Telangana recorded a voter turnout of 62.77%, which was below the national average. However, with the upcoming elections, there is anticipation for increased participation and enthusiasm among the electorate.
