There are less than two weeks left for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Many types of events have started in all the franchises. Like team building and practice sessions. However, amid all this, even before the start of the tournament, 5 teams have suffered a major blow, as 7 of their players have withdrawn due to injury or personal reasons. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on March 12 that Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna have also been ruled out of IPL 2024. The leading wicket-taker in IPL 2023 had to be ruled out of IPL 2024 due to an ankle injury sustained during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Shami recently underwent surgery in London. Furthermore  Gus Atkinson the  England fast bowler pulled out of his first IPL season after the ECB refused to clear him to play in IPL 2024 to manage his workload. Australian wicketkeeper batsman Matthew  will miss Chennai Super Kings’ match against Gujarat Titans on March 25 Not because of Injury but after deciding to play the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania from March 21 to 25. Mark Wood also did not receive an NOC from the ECB to play this Season of the IPL . It was done to manage the workload before the T20 World Cup and England home series. Jason Roy the opening batsman from England has also withdrew from the series due to personal reasons. The New Zealand batsman Devon Conway  recently underwent surgery for a thumb injury. He is expected to be out for eight weeks. These are just some of the major names that are out of the IPL 2024 due to injuries or due to some other reason. The teams will soon announce the replacement for them. As the IPL is set to start from 22nd March 2024 , the announcement for the replacement for these players can come anytime soon. Gujarat Titans

Mohammed Shami, who took the most wickets in the 2023 season, won’t play in IPL 2024 due to an ankle injury from the 2023 ODI World Cup. He had surgery in London, and Titans haven’t chosen a replacement yet.

Matthew Wade, the Australian wicketkeeper, will miss the Titans’ first game on March 25 and might also miss the second game on March 27 as he’s playing the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania.

Lucknow Super Giants

Mark Wood was withdrawn from IPL to manage his workload ahead of the T20 World Cup and England’s summer. Shamar Joseph replaces him.

Rajasthan Royals

Prasidh Krishna won’t play this IPL season due to surgery on his quadriceps tendon. He got injured during the Ranji Trophy. No replacement has been named.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Jason Roy pulled out of IPL 2024 for personal reasons. Phil Salt, the England player, took his place.

Gus Atkinson withdrew from his first IPL season for workload management. Dushmantha Chameera from Sri Lanka replaces him.

Chennai Super Kings

Devon Conway had thumb surgery and will be out for eight weeks. No replacement has been named yet.

Delhi Capitals

Harry Brook withdrew from IPL 2024 due to his grandmother’s passing in February. No replacement has been named yet.

Lungi Ngidi is out due to a lower back injury. Jake Fraser-McGurk from Australia replaces him.

Mumbai Indians

Dilshan Madushanka has a hamstring tear in his left leg and may miss the first few matches. His recovery time is uncertain, and he’ll be assessed by the medical team at the high-performance center.
