Telangana Political History
After the Telangana movement and the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, Telangana won independence from Andhra Pradesh and quickly rose to national prominence. Telangana Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Constituencies
With a total of 17 Lok Sabha seats, Telangana is placed 13th out of all the states. Candidates from Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC) are each allotted three seats and two seats, respectively. With nine seats, the BRS (formerly TRS) became the majority party in the 2019 elections. With four seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) overtook the INC, which had three seats, to take third position. One seat was also obtained by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM).
