Terminals
At present, Pune International Airport has only one terminal operating for both military and commercial purposes.Â
Expansion and development planning
An increase in passenger traffic raises a demand for the renovation of the exciting terminal and the construction of a new terminal to meet the overcrowding of passenger traffic, and increase the number of plane operations and connectivity to more destinations.
The new terminal has recently been inaugurated and will be brought into public use soon, its size is twice the size of the original operating terminal and will make the entire airport landscape 74300 sq/m. The planning of this expansion includes 72 checked-in counters and 10 aerobridges that will take up an area of 50000sq/m.
This new terminal building is an investment of Rs 475000 crores, and a multilevel car parking lot is worth an investment of Rs 120 crores and includes a new cargo complex worth an investment of Rs 300 crores.Â
The construction is finally concluded with only a few checkups in action. It is situated on the eastern side of the current operating terminal.Â
The new terminal also showcases the richness of Maharashtrian cultural heritage inscribed on the walls and incorporates centerpieces and walls as cultural showcases spaces. Â
Lounge luxury
It is a myth to believe that lounge service at the airport is a luxury one can skip solely because it may create a hole in your budget. It is better to arrive earlier and have an ample amount of time to kill at the airport than to come with a racing heart to meet an uncertain fate by arriving late if you can get access to the lounge service provided by airports including here.Â
If you are a customer of any Indian private bank and have a credit card approved by that bank then you might want to contact your service provider or customer care service to inquire about the perks that come with the card which may also have free or minimum cost access to the lounge.
