The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 began on March 22 and will conclude with the final on May 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The champion team is awarded the IPL trophy at the end of the season, while apart from this, many individual awards are also given to the players in this league. The Orange Cap, awarded to the player who scores the most runs in the tournament, is one of the most prestigious individual honours in the competition. The IPL, one of the top T20 cricket leagues in the world , produces some of the best batting talent every year. The player who scores the most runs during the tournament wears an orange cap on the field. However, the batsman with the most runs at the end of the IPL 2024 season will win the Orange Cap. With 361 runs in seven matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli currently holds the Orange Cap in IPL 2024 . Here is an updated list of which players have scored the most runs in IPL 2024.

List of Orange cap Winners From 2008 to 2023:-
In the 16 editions held so far, 13 different batsmen have won the Orange Cap at the end of the season. Virat Kohli holds the record for scoring the most runs in a single IPL edition with 973 runs in the 2016 season. David Warner (2015, 2017, 2019) is the only player to win three Orange Caps in the IPL. Chris Gayle has won this award twice (2011, 2012). The only two top-scorers in 16 editions have been from teams that became champions in the same year – Robin Uthappa of Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 and Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai Super Kings in 2021. Shaun Marsh of Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) won the first Orange Cap in 2008 by scoring 616 runs.
