The approximately 3,754 km long NH 7 is the largest highway in the country. This highway connects about 21 major cities of the country. This highway originates from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu and ends in Jammu and Kashmir. It passes through Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It is one of the most important part of the road transport Network of India and currently is one of the largest Highways in India.

The approximately 3,507 km long NH 27 is the second longest highway in the country. This highway passes through about 7 states and about 27 cities. It ends in Porbandar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Assam. The third largest national highway of the country is NH-48. The total length of this highway is approximately 2,807 kilometres. However this process will start in the third term of BJP so the citizens have to still wait for it.

 

5. NH-30

Earlier NH-221 was at the fifth position among the largest highways of the country but now it is NH-30. The length of this highway is approximately 2,040 kilometres. This highway passes through Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.  The National Highway Authority of India is planning to further enhance the experience of NH-30. Currently facilities such as Roadside assistance, NHAI Medicare and petrol fillup vans are available on this highway.

 

6. NH-6

The approximately 1,873 km long NH-6 is the sixth largest national highway in the country. This highway connects cities and states like Jorabhat, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand etc. NH-6 Plays an important role in connecting north eastern India with the mainland. The north east region of the Indian Peninsula is largely inaccessible due to only one way of transport being present there which is the chicken neck corridor. The NH-6 has an important duty to make sure that there is connection between both the places.

 

7. NH-53

9. NH-66

NH-66 is approximately 1,622 kilometers long and is the ninth longest national highway in the country. However, before this it was also known as NH-17. It goes from Panvel to Kanyakumari.   Now this is a highway that connects to extreme or rather to very far along places in India. Originating from Mumbai it takes all the way to the end of the Indian border in the south.

 

10. NH-19

NH-19 is last but not the least in the list of Top 10 biggest highways in India. The length of the highway is approximately 1,435 kilometres. It mainly works to connect Delhi and Kolkata. It was earlier also known as NH-20.  This highway plays a major role in connecting north and eastern India.
