Mahendra Pratap was selected as the representative for the Indian National Congress party. He is famous among farmers and he is a famous Kisan leader. He was the first chairman of Gurgaon (now Gurugram) Zila Parishad of Punjab state. He was the Member of Legislative Assembly and was also the Cabinet Minister in Haryana.
