As said, there are several ways to check your EPF Balance.
- EPFO Portal: This is an official website by the government to handle all the Employee’s details and transactions. EPFO stands for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, it requires credentials to log in to the website.
- UMANG App: UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance is an official app from the government. It is available on the Google Play Store as well as the Apple Apps Store. It is easy to log in to the UMANG app with a mobile number.
- SMS Service: The government also enables some numbers which are used to check the PF balance through SMS. It also works in different languages.
- Missed Call Service: The government also enables some numbers which are used to check the PF balance by missed calls. It responds to SMS only.
- Employer: Employees can ask their employer for the EPF stamen or EPF balance.
Check EPF Balance With UAN Number
If you have a UAN number, here is an easy step to check your EPF balance-
By Portal
- Visit the official website of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), which is https://www.epfindia.gov.in/.
- On the homepage, click on the e-Passbook.
- On the next web page, enter your UAN number and Password. Verify the recapcha and click on the Sign In button.
- Your Dashboard will open.
- Click on the Passbook.
- Now, click on the Member ID. Their respective PF details appeared on the screen.
- You can print these PF details or download a PDF for future use.
By Umang App
- Download and install the Umang (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app on your mobile.
- OPwn the app and register or log in with your mobile number
- After login, Navigate to the EPFO section and select the “Employee Centric Services” option
- Now, click on the “View Passbook” and enter your UAN and OTP (One-Time Password) received on the registered mobile number.
- After verifying your OTP, your EPF passbook where you can check your PF balance easily
By SMS
Yes, there is an option of checking EPF balance through SMS service.
- Send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 7738299899 in the format “EPFOHO UAN ENG”. ENG stands for English. You can use your preferred language too like Hindi (HIN), Punjabi (PUN), Gujarati (GUJ), Marathi (MAR), Kannada (KAN), Telugu (TEL), Tamil (TAM), Malayalam (MAL), Bengali (BEN)
- Within some minutes, you will receive all EPF balances in your registered mobile number through SMS.
By missed call
- Dial 9966044425 from your registered mobile number and give a missed call.
- Within some minutes, you will receive EPF balance details, including the latest contribution and total balance through SMS on your registered mobile number.
This process will work if your UAN number is integrated with your KYC details. You can ask your employer to integrate your UAN number with the KYC details.
Check EPF Balance Without UAN Number
If you haven’t UAN number, here is an easy step to check your EPF balance-
By website
- Visit the official website of EPFO(Employees’ Provident Fund Organization) which is https://www.epfindia.gov.in/.
- On the homepage, Under the “Our Services” section, click on the “For Employees” option.
- Now, click on the Member Passbook in the drop-down menu.
- Now, you need to enter your PF account number, date of birth, mobile number, and captcha code.
- After carefully entering all the details, click on the “Get OTP” button.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter receive OTP and click on the “Login” button
- Here, you check your EPF passbook and check your balance.
By Missed Call
Yes, you can check your EPF balance by giving a missed call to a number.
- Dial 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number and give a missed call on it.
- Within some minutes, you will receive EPF balance details, including the latest contribution and total balance through SMS on your registered mobile number.
