The nation is preparing for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Election Commission of India has announced this schedule for Lok Sabha election 2024. Today in this article will see the list of candidates for lok sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh from different parties. As per the schedule released by the Election Commission of India, Lok Sabha elections in UP will be conducted in all seven Phases. The election will start from April 11 and will conclude on May 19 with a few days gap between each polling day. After that the counting of votes will be down across the nation collectively on 23 May 2024. Before 2014 the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh was dominated by local parties such as Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party. However since Yogi Adityanath from BJP became Chief Minister there. BJP has strengthened their position both in centre and state. They have totally demolished the opposition and the popularity of these parties who once in power are dying slowly. For the 2024 Lok Sabha election local parties have joined hands with INC to defeat BJP. 1. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP):
Well for the past 10 years Uttar Pradesh has been a stronghold for BJP. Yogi Adityanath from BJP has been the CM of Uttar Pradesh. Seeing the inauguration of Ram Mandir, the popularity of BJP skyrocketed in Uttar Pradesh. It is safe to assume that the party would it performing great in the general elections 2024. In Lok Sabha elections 2019 BJP won 62 seats out of total 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh.

2. Samajwadi Party (SP):
Samajwadi party was once a prominent party in Uttar Pradesh. On many occasions Samajwadi Party made a government and governed the state for years. However after the advent of the BJP their popularity declined and they stopped performing well in both state and central elections. In Lok Sabha elections 2024 they are part of the INDIA alliance and with them are hoping to win a significant number of seats. In the 2019 General Elections SP only managed to win 5 seats out of 80 seats in UP.

3. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP):
Bahujan Samaj Party was once a prominent name in the polity of Uttar Pradesh. However over the years they have continuously declined. This year along with INDIA Alliance they’ll be looking to gain back their popularity and prominence. In 2019 compared to the other opposition parties BSP performed well. They were able to secure 10 Seats out of 80 in Uttar Pradesh.

4. Indian National Congress (INC):
Since BJP came into power in 2014 Indian national Congress has continuously declined in popularity and prominence. If we talk about the INC alone, they only won 1 seat out of 80 in Uttar Pradesh in the 2019 general elections. Now for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, to defeat BJP INC has joined hands with BSP and SP in Uttar Pradesh. How successful will this alliance between only time will tell.
