Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2023-24: To apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2023-24, 31 May 2024 is the last date. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is a scholarship program for the students of West Bengal to get financial help for their education from the West Bengal Government. It is also known as the Bikash Bhaban Scholarship. This scheme provides financial support for their School (Class 11-12), UG College and University Higher Education. It is a big initiative from West Bengal to increase the literacy rate in West Bengal and empower students to pursue their academic and professional aspirations without being hindered by financial constraints. It is named after the renowned Indian philosopher and spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is available for all fields of study such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), humanities, and arts.

 Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Application Process

If you want to apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship this year, then follow these steps-

  • Visit the official website of SVMCM(Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship), which is www.svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.
  • If you are new and apply for the first time, then you need to register yourself first. Click on the Registered button on the top-right corner of the homepage.
  • Now, you need to select the appropriate category from Topeer and Non-Topper.
  • On the next web page, select the Application Types, which is Fresh Application in your case. After selecting ” apply for fresh”, click on the proceed button.
  • A form will appear on the screen. Fill out all the required details like name, mobile number, address, stream, etc.
  • Upload the required document in the specified format like mark sheet, etc.
  • Now click on the Register Button.
  • Once, click on the registered button, you will get an OTP on the given number in the form. 
  • Enter your received OTP number to authenticate your mobile number.
  • After successful verification of your mobile number, you will get an Applicant Id. Save this applicant ID to use it later in future.

 

Now, you can use this Applicant ID to log in to the website. begin your Application process

  • On the homepage of the SVMCM Scholarship Scheme, now click on the Applicant Login in the top-right corner, beside the registration button.
  • Now, enter your login ID and password that you created at the time of registration.
  • On the dashboard, you can apply for the Scholarship, by clicking on the application Details.
  • You can upload the required document here.
  • You can also edit your profile and application. 
  • After doing all the application processes, log in from your SVMCM dashboard.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Amount

The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship amount varies as per the marks and field of the subject. Let’s understand it carefully.

  • For the UG (ARTS) student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the UG (COMMERCE) student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the UG (SCIENCE) student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1500/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the UG (OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES, UGC APPROVED) student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1500/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the PG (ARTS) student who has At least 53% marks for SVMCM and 45% for Kanyashree(K3 applicants in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive the 2000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the PG (COMMERCE) student who has At least 53% marks for SVMCM and 45% for Kanyashree(K3 applicants in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive the 2000/- rupees per month by the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the PG (SCIENCE) student who has At least 53% marks for SVMCM and 45% for Kanyashree(K3 applicants in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive the 2000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the PG (OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES, UGC APPROVED) student who has At least 53% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 2000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Public Interface (DPI).
  • For the NON NET M.PHIL./NON NET PhD student who has At least 60% marks in Last Qualifying Exam and Date of Enrolment/Date of Registration not before 01.04.2017, he/she will receive the 5000-8000/- rupees per month by the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE).
  • For the HS student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE).
  • For the D.El.Ed student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam(Minimum Qualification H.S),/will receive 1000/- rupees per month from the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE).
  • For the UG (ENGG.), PG (ENGG.) AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL COURSES (AICTE APPROVED)student who has UG: 1. 60% 2. 60% in Diploma Course from WBSCT&VE&SD for lateral entry scheme. PG: 55% in Graduation from any State University/AICTE-approved institute in West Bengal, he/she will receive 5000/- rupees per month by the Department of Technical Education (DTE).
  • For the POLYTECHNIC (DIPLOMA COURSES) student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 1500/- rupees per month from the Department of Technical Education (DTE).
  • For the UG (MEDICAL-DEGREE) AND DIPLOMA COURSES student who has At least 60% marks in the Last Qualifying Exam, he/she will receive 5000 and 15000/- rupees per month from the Director of Medical Education (DME)
