2. Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR):
The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, or IGCAR, is situated in Tamil Nadu Kalpakkam. This nuclear research is at the Four Friends Research and Development Institute in India, which was established in 1971. This research institute focuses on various domains, including advanced research in nuclear reactor material science and radioactive waste management. This research center is named after Indira Gandhi and will play a very important role in breeding the reactor program in India that will develop India’s next-generation nuclear technology by the next decade.
3. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL):
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, or NPCIL, is the only organisation responsible for the development of power plants and their operation throughout India. NPCIL has its headquarters in Mumbai and manages nuclear power station networks across the country that contribute significantly to India’s energy security and fulfil the objective of clean energy. This research institute collaborates with other research institutions and partners with international nuclear power technologies.
4. Space Research Centres:
The National Space Agency of India is known as the India Space Research Organisation or ISRO. This research organisation operates in the primary development and research of a department of science called DOS, which is directly seen by the chairman of ISRO and the prime minister, who acts as the executive of the department of Space.
5. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO):
The Indian Space Research Organisation, or ISRO, is the central space agency of India, popularly known for its great achievements in satellite technology and space exploration across the globe. ISRO has achieved a lot in the last few years, and it has been breaking records for other countries, including America, Russia, China, etc.
ISRO was established in 1969 and has successfully spearheaded various space missions, including the Chandrayaan mission to the moon and the Mangalyaan Mars orbiter mission. These achievements made Isro popular around the world.
The headquarters of this research organisation isn’t in Bengaluru; it operates multiple research and development centres in our country and is a driving force of satellite communication innovation in remorse sensing and space exploration.
6. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC):
Vssc, or Vikram Sarabhai, is named after an award-winning scientist from India named Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, who was the lead of the Indian space research organisation. He was involved in the development of launch vehicles.
This space centre is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
VSC plays a vital role in the integration of satellite launch vehicles and design testing, including the GSLV-JIO synchronous satellite launch vehicle and the PSLV, the iconic polar satellite launch vehicle. VSS conducts much research in the area of material science and space propulsion to make it reach India on another level.
7. Space Applications Centre (SAC):
A space application centre has played an important role in an Indian space organisation that is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This research centre has been focusing on social benefits by applying research and technology to space for the benefit of society.
This research and institute help in developing Earth observation in payload remote sensing satellites and various communication systems based on satellites. This space institute collaborates with various national and international agencies so that the centre can develop space technology for environmental monitoring, agriculture, and disaster management to help India wisely.
