Chandrayaan 3 is the latest lunar mission by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It is the third lunar exploration mission after the successes of Chandrayaan 1 and Chandrayaan 2. The aim of launching the Chandrayaan 3 is to achieve a successful soft landing on the Moon’s surface.

Chandrayaan 3 was launched on July 14. Chandrayaan 1 was launched in 2008 and Chandrayaan 2 was launched in 2019.

After 4 years, Chandrayaan 3 was launched on 14 July 2013. After launch, it initially entered an elliptical orbit around the Earth, gradually gained altitude, and then switched to an elliptical orbit around the Moon on August 5. After closing the distance to the moon, the lander separated from the propulsion module on the 17th, and on the 21st it was separated from the orbiter of Chandrayaan 2, which was scheduled to be reused as a relay aircraft. On the 23rd, once the safety of the landing site was confirmed, Chandrayaan-3 entered an automatic landing sequence, descended for about 20 minutes, and made a soft landing on the lunar surface at 9:34 p.m. on Manzinus Crater (also known as Manzinus), which has a diameter of approximately 96 km.
