Arun Jaitley Stadium

Arun Jaitley Stadium is situated in Delhi. It is also known as Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed countless memorable moments and legendary performances. It was established in 1880 during the British colonial era. The original name of Arun Jaitley Stadium is named after the 14th-century emperor Feroz Shah Tughlaq. IN 1983, it was named Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in honour of him. In 2019, it will be renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium in the honour of late Arun Jaitley who was a prominent Indian Politician and former President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). It is an iconic venue for the cricket matches. Many IPL, ODI and T20 are held here. Arun Jaitley Stadium has a unique architectural design with traditional Delhi’s Mughal era touch.

  • General Seating: Arun Jaitley Stadium has uncovered a stand on both sides of the field.  There are 35,200 seats available for the cricket lovers.

  • Pavilion Stand: Its pavilion stand is covered seating areas, available for premium guests only. They are premium tickets which give an excellent view of the field and provide comfort to the spectators.

  • Corporate Boxes: Arun Jaitley Stadium also has corporate boxes situated at vantage points around the ground. They are luxurious boxes available for VIP guests, corporate clients and sponsors only. They are extremely comfortable and give private viewing areas,

  • Member’s Enclosure: This enclosure is a reserved area for the members of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and their guests. They are also exclusive areas with exclusive amenities like bars, restaurants and many more.

Arun Jaitley Stadium is witness to many iconic and unforgettable moments. Let’s check out some of them-

  • In Feb 2010, the Master Blaster of Indian Cricket- Sachin Tendulkar recorded the history of the first batsman of a one-day international (ODI) match who scored a double century. He scored a sublime innings of 200 without out against South Africa. It was an iconic moment for all Tendulkar fans.

  • In Feb 1999, during a test match against Pakistan, Anil Kumble – an Indian spinner achieved the title of taking 10 wickets in a single inning. His bowling performance made the crowd crazy and won cricket lover’s hearts.

  • In April 2008, Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed the triple century of Virender Sehwag, Indian opener of cricket. He hit a triple century against South Africa During the Test match. He scored 319 runs and showcased their aggressive batting style. He held the title and became one of the highest individual scores by an Indian batsman in Test cricket.

  • Arun Jaitley Stadium also witnessed the various record-breaking centuries by Virat Kohli-Indian Cricketer. He showcased many winning performances in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He scored centuries against top-ranked teams such as Australia, England, and South Africa.
