Notably, Jindal is the only woman billionaire in India among the top 10 richest people in India in 2024. Apart from business, Jindal entered politics in 2005 by winning the Haryana Assembly seat from Hisar. She was re-elected in 2009 and in 2013, she was appointed as a Cabinet Minister of the Government of Haryana.

Vinod Gupta and his son Anil Rai Gupta run Havells India, a major player in the country’s electrical equipment industry. The company was founded by Vinod’s late husband Samara Rai Gupta. With presence in over 50 countries, Havells operates 14 product manufacturing facilities. She is the fourth richest woman in India with a net worth of Rs 4.2 billion.

She is the fifth richest woman in India with wealth of 3.3 billion dollars.

Leena Gandhi Tiwari is the chairperson of USV, a global pharmaceutical and biotech company. The company was founded by his father Vittal Gandhi in 1961 along with Revlon. USV specializes in diabetes and heart related medicines. It has a portfolio that spans biosimilar drugs, injectables and active pharmaceutical ingredients. USV notably acquired German generics firm Juta Pharma in 2018. Leena has written ‘Beyond Pipes and Dreams’, the biography of her grandfather Vitthal Balkrishna Gandhi. She is the sixth richest woman in India with a net worth of $3.2 billion.


7. Falguni Nair

Falguni Nair, once an investment banker turned entrepreneur, saw her wealth increase by a staggering 963 per cent in 2021 after Nykaa’s successful initial public offering. THer  has propelled her to become one of the richest women in India and recently one of the few self-made female billionaires in the country. Before Nykaa, Nair was the managing director at Kotak Mahindra Capital. Falguni Nair is now India’s richest self-made billionaire woman. She ranks tenth globally among self-made billionaire women. She is the seventh richest woman in India with a net worth of 3 billion dollars.


8. Anu Aga

Anu Aga started working with her husband in Thermax, an engineering company, in the 1980s. He took over its reins in 1996. In 2004, he stepped down, allowing Her  daughter Mehar Pudumji to take over. Anu Aga returned to India’s richest list in 2022 after 2014. She is the eighth richest woman in India with a net worth of $2.8 billion.


9. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw

Shaw  is a first-generation entrepreneur and founded biopharmaceuticals company Biocon from her garage in 1978. Asia’s largest insulin producing factory is located in Malaysia. Her  wealth increased after the successful IPO of Her  company Biocon. Last year, the company had acquired the biosimilar business of Viatris in the US for $3 billion. She is the ninth richest woman in India with $2.5 billion.


10. Radha Vembu

Radha Vembu, co-founder of Chennai-based technology company Zoho, has held the position of product manager of Zoho Mail since 2007. Her enduring leadership in creating global products has earned her a place among the richest women in India. Zoho’s impressive journey led to its revenue exceeding $1 billion in 2021, resulting in a 127 per cent increase in Radha Vembu’s wealth during the same year. Her  contribution is a testament to Her  important role in the success story of Zoho. She is the tenth richest woman in India with a net worth of $2.1 billion.
