In the year 2019, the Indian National Congress won, with M. K. Raghavan being its representative. He defeated Raghu K of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and A. Pradeepkumar of CPI and earned 493,444 out of 10,76,882 votes, being 45.82%. M. K. Raghavan has been winning the election since 2009 under the ticket of the Indian National Congress.
