Eid al-Adha 2024 Dua: Meaning, Duas for Qurbani & Prayer Rituals

Eid al-Adha 2024 Dua

Eid ul Adha is the festival where qurbani is performed for Allah, and it is one of the most valuable festivals for Muslims. In the Quran, qurbani was the first give bye to the to the prophet Ibrahim, who decided to kurban his son Ismail to God.

Performing qurbani proves the relationship with Allah and how a person prioritises and gives importance to the almighty before anyone else or anything in their life. This festival helps us to increase good deeds for the sake of Allah and also reminds us to give up anything that harms our faith in Allah. There are some steps mentioned in the Quran that should be followed to get the maximum benefit and rewards after qurbani.

In this article, we have put together all the dua namaz that should be performed on Eid al-Adha.

Make these duas before offering Qurbani.

There is no specific dua to make before offering Qurbani.

There is no compulsory dua to make before offering qurbani.

As such, there is no specific dua mentioned somewhere that should be made before offering kurbani, but the person who is slautering the goat, the lamp, or the camel must decide the takbir when he is sacrificing the animal to be accepted and to get maximum reward from the almighty.

Dua for forgiveness

God showers his divine mercy on the creators who turn to him with sincerity for forgiveness in the first 10 days of the month Dhul hijjah. Before and during qurbani, one must be sure that he turns to Allah, asks for mercy, and receives forgiveness.

Below is a tadwa from the Quran for forgiveness.

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّافَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Transliteration: “Rabbanaaa innanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaazunoobanaa wa qinaa ‘azaaban Naar’

Translation: ”Our Lord! Surely we believe; therefore, forgive us our faults and save us from the chastisement of the  fire.” (Al-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 16)

These are the duas that you should recite on the Day of Arafah.

For Muslim daddy of Arfa, this is one of the important days in which Allah favours were completed on the prophet Muhammad on this day, and he approves of Islam as a way of life.

The day of Arafa is very important, so you must make a lot of it and ask for love and forgiveness from your neighbours and relatives on this special day. You can make these Ghar perform Hajj, or you are at home on the day of forgiveness.

Making dua in the day of our park and saving you from the fire of Jahannam, where the almighty comes close to the people who are doing arafa and reveals what his creature is seeking before angels.

A few duas are very special to recite on the day of Arafa, and the best time to recite them is before the last few hours before Maghrib.

Transliteration: “Lailaha illalahu wahadahu lasharikalahu lahulmulku walahu hamdu wahuva alakulli shayin kadir.”

Translation: ”There is no God but Allah alone, who has no partner, to whom dominion belongs, to whom praise is due, and who has power over everything.”

It is also the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to recite Tahleel (‘Laillaha illalah’), Takbeer (‘Allahuakbar’), Tahmeed (‘Allhamdulillah’), and Tasabeeh (Subhanallah’) as many times as possible on the day of arafah.

What duas should I recite on Eid al-Adha?

This dua is highly recommended for every adult Muslim to decide this prayer called lakhbir tashriq after prayer. This prayer should be recited silently by the women and out loud by the men.

Transliteration: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd.

Translation: “Allah is the greatest; Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah, and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest, and all praises are for Allah only.”

How to perform Eid prayer

Before beginning with the prayer, the first thing you should do after getting up in the morning is:

Perform ghusl (ritual ablution).

It’s nice to have something to eat. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to eat dates before he used to go to prayer.

One must wear his best clothes!

Muslims are encouraged to clean up, wear their best clothes, and smell good for the holidays!

Say a general takbeerat on the way to the Eid prayer.

When you are ready to pray, intend to perform the Eid prayer. Give the opening takbeer (‘Allahu Akbar’) with the imam.

Say the opening prayer to yourself silently.

Give three more requests to the imam, raising hands before each one. Listen to the Imam reciting Surah al-Fatiha and another Surah..

Say ‘Allahu Akbar’ while moving into ruku with the imam and wish everybody else and continue the prayer cycle as normal.

In the second rakah, listen to the Surah al-Fatihah and any other surah too.

Give three additional takbeers to the imam.

After the third and final takbeer, you have to place your hands on your sides before performing the ruku again.

Say ‘Allahu Akbar’ while getting into the bowing position with the imam and complete the rest of the prayer cycle as normal.
